How it all started...
The church began in 2019 and sprouted from a Bible Study that started in Jay & Beth’s home. It definitely was not without hardship and setback as 2020 came along and posed challenges. Pastor Jay said, “Church Planting is hard, but church planting with Covid is even harder.” For 13 weeks we recorded online services. For 16 weeks met at a park shelter outside. For 28 weeks we met on Saturdays into 2021. By October 3rd 2021, we made the decision to meet at the Pearisburg Community Center (KJ).
Expanding the vision...
By Easter 2022 the church officially launched and started growing. One of our favorite quotes by Craig Groeschel is, “God wants you to dream big, and be willing to start small.” In Matthew 17:20, Jesus said, “If you have faith as a small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
Where we are headed...
We desire to be very active within our community and show others the love of Jesus. We are thankful for many in the community that have come alongside of us and partnered to make Hope Church - NRV possible.
